Getting OLD?

Am I getting OLD?
Usually, my antics get me in trouble A LOT! But, after a puppy in the house for two days I am TIRED! Jasper and I play together several times a day, but he doesn't seem to take naps as much as I do! My mom says it's because I am between 7-8 years old and Jasper is not even 2 years old yet....hmmm, I am not sure about this! Where is the fountain of youth?

Meet Jasper!

On the way home with Jasper!

I am so excited! Yesterday, my mom went and picked up our new foster brother. He is 18 months old and very fun to play with. Although he is very energetic and he does not seem to get tired when I do...I think I am getting old! We played a lot yesterday. Today I am so sleepy. Thank goodness for my comfy dog bed from Santa.

Sharing

Daisy Mae and Biloxi
Santa Claus came early and brought me and Jackson two new dog beds!

I am so glad because it is freezing here in Florida and I don't like laying on the cold wood floor.

The only bad thing? I have to share my bed with my little brother, Biloxi. Doesn't he know that this is a "DOG bed" and not a "cat" bed?!

Miss February!

I made it!

I was selected to be one of the February "models" in the new 2011 GREAT calendar! My mom told me I was selected because I am so pretty and special. I agree!

Happy Halloween

Ready for my photo Mom!
I didn't know the pumpkin my mom asked me to pose with was not food!
Hmmm...this is pretty tasty!
What?! Why are you yelling at me for eating the pumpkin?

Calendar Worthy?

I submitted my picture for a chance to be featured in the 2011 G.R.E.A.T. calendar. This picture was taken after my first haircut of the summer. It felt so great to lose some of the extra fur! Do you think this photo will make the final cut? I am sure there is a lot of "golden" competition out there!

C'mon Dad!

My dad got some kind of new game thing a month ago. And, since then ALL he does is play with that game and not me! One day, I am going to destroy his new toy and then he'll be forced to play with me again!

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

I live in Florida where the weather is warm! I sure don't know what's going on so far this new year, but it is sooooo cold here! I had to convince my mom that it is too cold in my room to sleep - so she let's me sleep in the closet in her room! Even better, she lets me sleep on a lot of fluffy, warm towels and clothes. I love being in the closet!

First Injury in 2010

Last night I had to break the news to my mom that I was hurt (again). It's been a while since I've had any injuries so my mom has been pretty excited...until now. She took one look at my right eye and immediately made me take 2 little pink pills (she called them Benadryl, but I don't know what that means - they were simply 2 pink treats to me!), and another little treat (something called Rimadyl -what is that? It tasted great!). Don't tell my mom, but I really liked these treats - even if I got them because my eye was hurt. Plus, my mom always tells me what a good girl I am when I get treats. She says that I'm the only girl she knows that eats these pink pills without any kind of coating. Hmm, I wonder what that means? I just like to eat anything that is a special treat - who needs a coating?

Merry Christmas!

I had so much fun this morning. I love Christmas even if it is a little exhausting. And, no matter what the pictures may look like - I was NOT trying to kill Jackson by strangling him with his own Christmas scarf. I was just trying to have fun, but I got in trouble 'cause I wouldn't let go of his scarf!

Another Duraflame log?

Some of you may remember that I have eaten a Duraflame log before (just so you know...it didn't go so well for me). Well, a few nights ago my mom and dad were acting very "sneaky" about something in the fireplace. They actually locked me out of the living room while they "took care of something"! As soon as they let me back in the living room, I was able to figure out what they were hiding from me - another Duraflame log!! Can you believe it? I LOVE these logs! Although, I have never tasted one that was on fire before...I just stood there, licking my lips and wimpering at the log. I tried to move the fireplace screen out of the way with my paw, but my parents told me to "Leave it alone!" Clearly, they don't know how good a Duraflame log tastes...well, until it starts to come back up...

Attempting to forge new relationships...

I attempted to talk to Kramer about this video...he was not receptive to the idea that we can ever be more than "housemates". Hmmm....does anyone have any ideas for me to try? I just don't understand why Kramer hates me so much. I try, and I try, and I try...but he just hates me!

Just sayin'....

I really don't like the big 'ol orange tabby cat in this picture. He attacks me anytime I get excited or even try to walk by him! Well, today I snuck up on him and my favorite playtoy (Biloxi) and snapped this photo. I would just like to point out that people like to say I'm big-boned! Hopefully this picture will help them see who is really "big-boned" in our family! PS...don't let Kramer know I posted this picture for everyone to see; I don't need him attacking me anymore than he already does!

Fresh Breath!

I knew I was in trouble as soon as I heard my mom yell, "Daisy Mae, where are you?!" She didn't seem too happy that I decided to make my breath smell good. How am I supposed to know that cinnamon toothpaste is only for two-legged people?!

Life is Ruff!

Life is tough sometimes, but I find that a good belly rub makes it all better!

Happy Halloween!!!

My mom told me that Halloween is this weekend. I don't really know much about Halloween, but my mom bought me a new outfit to wear for the occasion, so it must be a good thing. My mom also told me that "little people" will probably come to our house for treats on Saturday. I think that is a great idea - I love treats! In fact, I got to eat a special treat today....my dad's cell phone. He didn't seem too happy with me. I guess he doesn't understand how tasty cell phones are.

G.R.E.A.T

Tonight my mom told me she met 2 wonderful ladies from G.R.E.A.T - the Golden Retriever Emergency Assistance Team - at the Cummer Museum's reception honoring The Dogs of Riverside and Avondale. My mom was overjoyed that my dad agreed to adopt/foster another Golden in December 2009. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I think it means I get another playmate!! I am so excited! My mom tells me she is so excited to be affiliated with this wonderful group and is happy to help in any way. She was a little emotional tonight when she told me and Jackson the story of how we came to be rescued. It's been soooo long that I forgot my "old life". Now, Jackson and I play all day long and we love to snuggle and wrestle with our parents! We especially love our backyard (even though I am allergic to grass and most oak trees in our neighborhood). We sure do like living in Avondale!!! I would like to ask everyone to take a moment to support GREAT! Who knows, you may be supporting my new brother or sister!

The Dogs of Riverside and Avondale

Tonight my mom and dad are going to a reception for the book The Dogs of Riverside and Avondale, which features a story about me and my brother! My mom says the book is really good - full of wonderful stories about dogs in our neighborhood. I made sure to remind my mom to bring my business cards advertising this blog. I figure the more people who know about my misadventures the better! http://thedogsofriversideandavondale.com/
